Pastor Jason Elmore received his first United Methodist Church appointment in 2008 as an Associate Pastor at Bethia UMC. From 2016 to June 2022, he served as the pastor of Asbury Memorial UMC. From July 2022 to June 2026, he served as an associate pastor at Providence UMC (Chesterfield). On July 1, 2026, Jason was appointed as the Pastor at Skipwith UMC. 

Pastor Jason worked as a firefighter/medic for more than 27 years. His fire and EMS career started in 1993 with the City of Colonial Heights Fire and EMS Department. In 2001, he was hired by Chesterfield County Fire and EMS and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2006. Pator Jason began serving as the department’s public information officer and spokesperson in 2009 and served in that position until 2020. After 27 years in the fire service, he switched roles worked as the deputy communications director/chief agency spokesperson for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. On August 1, 2026, Pastor Jason retired from his public safety career with more than 30 years of service. 

Pastor Jason has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Strayer University, a Master’s degree in Divinity from Virginia Union University, and the Executive Public Information Officer Certification from FEMA’s National Disaster and Emergency Management University. He is also a credentialed public information officer with the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Pastor Jason is a resident of Chesterfield County. He has two daughters, Reese, who is a graduate of James Madison University, and Kenley, who is a student at West Virginia University.
