Don Myers - Director, Music Ministries
 

Don was born in northeast Ohio, where he started his musical journey at the age of 6 with a piano and a trumpet.   He grew up in church and school music programs, and evolved into a musical career with multiple bands, ensembles, and groups in a variety of genre and styles.  He also developed a love of architecture and achieved an undergraduate degree in music and architecture at Kent State University and a graduate degree in architecture at the University of Virginia.  He achieved a license to practice architecture while maintaining an active musical presence in church and community, developing a musical career in classical, pop, and jazz.  

As musician and leader, Don has directed and designed music ministries of multiple churches including small, medium and large congregations, in  contemporary, traditional, and blended worship styles.  He has been Music Director for numerous Christian Community concerts, gatherings and fellowship events.  He continues to perform, produce, and record with Christian, pop, and jazz groups.  

Don and his wife Beverly have lived in Virginia for over 40 years.  They have three grown children and one grandson, who all live in the Henrico/Richmond area.  In partnership with a loving, caring, sharing congregation, Don and Bev have led the music ministry at Skipwith for over 14 years.
